HIGEN MOTOR
Motor, Servo Motor, Servo Drive and Motion Control System Manufacturer
The legacy of HIGENMOTOR dates back to 1963, when LG Group of Korea started motor production for import substitution. Later in 2008 the motor division was spun off as an independent corporation under the name of HIGEN MOTOR opening the new horizon of Higen era.
Despite economic downturn during the last 10 years of Higen era, HIGEN MOTOR made investment in motor component manufacturing subsidiary in China (CSC). Stator core lamination and rotor die casting are processed in CSC Quingdao factory, and stators and rotors are shipped to ChangWon, Korea, for subsequent quality sensitive processes of machining, winding, varnishing, assembly and testing. The synergy of these two factories makes Higen Motor products competitive in the global market. Higen Motor has continued R&D initiatives to diversify its product portfolio and to upgrade motor and motion control technology. As a result, Higen Motor has built solid position in the market as an industrial motor specialty manufacturer of 3 phase induction motors, servo motors and drives in the Korean domestic market and outside as well.
In the high voltage sector, Higen supplies various types of technology intensive HV motors up to 13.4 KV in voltage and 3.5 MW in power to various customers, most significantly, thermal power plants such as New Seochun, Gosung High, BukPyung in Korea and VinThan IV( Doosan Heavy Industry) in Vietnam, SAPI ( Hyundai SamHo Heavy Industry) in Morocco, Seytomer (KC Cottrell, desulfurization unit builder ) in Turkey and vector driven motors to Hitachi in Japan.
In the servo motor and motion control sector, Higen expanded the 380V servo products portfolio to wider spectrum of industrial applications such as fully electrified control system for plastic injection molding machine, 4 D theater seating system, VR system and explosion proof servo motors. Currently, Higen is the process of developing and testing future celebrity robotics key components such as 24 v hollow shaft servo drive and servo motors to drive collaborative robots.
Our role is not just limited to the technology intensive key component manufacturing only, which is currently the main stream of our business. Furthermore, Higen is pursuing expanded role as a system integrator in the niche market to engineer and build machinery automation motion control system such as delta robot and notching press encompassing Higen products of servo drives, motors and motion control technology as well.
Effective October, 2018, IE3 minimum efficiency requirement will be stepped up and enforced by the Korean government on even smaller electric motors of 40 hp or below and the Korean domestic motor market will evidently evolve to quality and technology competition to meet premium efficiency. Moreover, environment friendly EV and Industry 4.0 FA will also strongly drive the future emerging market to compete for high technology intelligent motors and motion control technologies.
Higen will continuously challenge for these emerging opportunities and build our better future stepping up our technological competence on the emerging high tech products such as robotics, electric vehicle power train. The entire family of Higen will take ambitious steps forward in pursuit of our mission "Challenge to the World, Challenge to the Future"
